SALE!

It is WINDY outside today!

REALLY WINDY!

I'm hoping this slows down in the next day or two, or else my yard sale this weekend is going to be... interesting?

I finally got my act together and posted an ad on kijiji for a yard sale on Saturday. This initial spurring of action morphed my living room from reasonably tidy last weekend to yard sale ground control over the course of a couple hours. One of my friends dropped off some stuff that was otherwise going to go to goodwill. I ransacked my closet, pulling out clothing shoes and accessories I didn't wear anymore. I (finally) went through a bunch of boxes that have spent over a year in the basement (and several years of just being packed!) and pulled stuff out to sell. I went through my bookshelves and pulled out books I had no intention of reading again. I went through my cd collection and weeded out the music I wasn't really all that into.

It is now all sitting in my living room, waiting for me to make some sort of order out of the piles. We'll see how that goes! lol.

I have a bunch of these bingo dot sized stickers left over from when I moved into my place, which I think I'm going to use up on Saturday. I can use them to price cds, books, and other flat surfaced odds and ends. I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and use up my dry cleaner hangers and old business cards to price the clothing. After that I'll have to see what I have for stickers or other markers to price the larger stuff. The clothing is all being hung up on my porch on a rolling clothing rack I got from IKEA years ago, and I'm going to use the tables the last owner ditched in the house to put things on outside. I'll probably mark those "free" just to get them out of the house at the end of the day.

I'm going to head down to the bank today to grab a roll of quarters ($0.25), a roll of loonies ($1 coins), a roll of toonies ($2 coins), and some assorted small bills. I have a slim makeup bag I can stash it all in on Saturday (I actually used to use it for coins/bills while waiting tables when I was younger), but I don't have any apron of any sort to put it in. I'll have to figure something out there.

I'm not expecting to make loads of money off this, but I am looking forward to getting some of the stuff I don't use out of the house. And that's not just so that I can make room for more stuff ;)

Is anyone else planning a garage/yard sale this year? Any tips for the day of?

We're planning ours! But likely to be July or August.

Good luck with yours!
